Meerabai is the epic story of a Rajasthani princess who dedicated her life to God after enduring the trials and tribulations of her life in the royal palace with her war mongering father and husband. This powerful story of her quest to find inner peace is set at a time when music and poetry was at its zenith in India. Her path crossed with the music legends of her time like Tansen, Baiju Bawra and Swami Haridas. Through her music and devotion to God she also met the great spiritual leaders of the day like Kabir, Tulsidas and Raidas.
This is an action packed drama of intrigue at court, the warring rajas, and the devoted wives who suffered more than the men who went to battle, as they were the ones left alone for years. The story of Meerabai is one of hope, courage and above all, the path of her passion for God. Due to some health and financial problems the production of this tv serial was abandoned after completion of only 26 episodes. Meera's story begins from her birth, goes up to her marriage and confrontation with family priest and meeting with saint Raidas, but the end is incomplete. It is sold "as is" and there is no hope of any new episodes being produced.
